7 REASONS WHY SKINCARE IS MORE
IMPORTANT THAN MAKEUP
It is time to embrace skincare as a priority over makeup. Nowadays we see people use heavy makeup every day, many can’t even do without it. I am not taking a bash at the use of makeup, far from it, as I can’t do without my kajal daily and my blue, green, black and chocolate lipsticks.
However, I want to emphasis the ‘Power Of A Great Skincare Routine’. I know that it’s so much easier to cover your pimples, acne and uneven skin with foundation BUT it’s better to get to the root of the problem rather than patch it up.
IF you are tired of relying on ‘covering up’, let’s start the journey to ‘healing’ your skin. This journey is fun, informative and of course you are allowed to start with baby steps.
Here are seven reasons why skincare is way more important than makeup.
1). GETTING INTO SKINCARE HELPS YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR SKIN AND ITS ‘NEEDS’ A LOT BETTER.
Yes, you have the option of applying powder on your oily T-Zone, but wouldn’t you rather see what you can do to make that oily T-Zone less oily in the first place?
You can conceal and cover up with foundation but isn’t it better to incorporate the right serums and exfoliators to actually stop unevenness before it starts?
You really can’t know what’s best for your skin until you actually get to understand your skin.
2). BECOMING MORE AWARE OF YOUR SKIN HELPS YOU DECIDE WHAT KIND OF MAKEUP AND SKINCARE PRODUCTS YOU SHOULD ACTUALY USE.
Knowing your skin type and its characteristics will make your life a whole lot easier. Although it is a process, it’s absolutely worth it.
Do you have oily skin and you’re using a foundation for dry skin? When you know your skin type, something as simple as buying makeup or skincare products will become much easier for you and you wouldn’t waste money again.
3). IMPROVING YOUR SKINCARE GAME CAN REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF MAKEUP THAT YOU NEED.
Do you agree that completely getting rid of your acne scars, pimples or under eye darkness is better than covering them up?
The right skincare products can help acne scars fade faster, even out your skin tone and keep pimples off your face. In the long run, you’ll save tons of money by improving your skin issues and conditions as this will reduce the amount of money you spend on concealers and foundations.
4). BETTER SKINCARE HELPS YOUR MAKEUP WORK MORE EFFECTIVELY.
Your skin needs T.L.C.( Tender Loving Care). Exfoliation and cleansing help your skincare products sink better into your skin.
Makeup junkies, you’ll be amazed by how much easier your makeup will glide on when it has clean, smooth skin as a foundation.
5). CARING ABOUT YOUR SKIN WILL HELP YOU AVOID SOME PREVENTABLE ISSUES DOWN THE ROAD.
You can’t avoid aging – wrinkles happen, skin sags – BUT starting and maintaining a good skincare routine early can help reduce the severity of aging(I am proof of this, lol).
Aging makes visible all that we did or didn’t do with our skin when we were younger.
Sunscreen, moisturizer and retinoid products can keep your skin looking younger, remain supple and even your skin out. These three things should be incorporated into an Age-Less skincare routine.
If per chance you haven’t started a skincare routine yet, It is never too late to start.
6). MAKEUP IS TEMPORARY, OUR SKIN IS FOREVER
The magic of makeup expires in less than twenty four hours. As you take off all the gunk on your face, you’re left with your skin in its purest and natural state.
Your skin might need help and support but makeup is definetly not the cure to your skin problems.
So. Invest in your skin, it is going to represent you for a very loooong time.
7). SKINCARE IS MORE FUN THAN MAKEUP.
I know you might not totally agree yet but even though skincare doesn’t involve fun pigments, it can still be a lot of fun. The fun comes with seeing the improvement in your skin over time. This is not the same instant gratification that makeup does, but good things come to those who wait, you know.
In conclusion, I leave you with this quote – “The best foundation you can wear is glowing healthy skin”.
Please put a bit more effort into taking care of your skin and I can guarantee you, your skin will thank you for ever.
